On Saturday, April 22, Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino (FARSB) hosted the highly anticipated event of the year, the annual Million Meals Gala: Run for the Roses, proudly presented by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. The tremendous outpouring of support from our community, volunteers, and dedicated supporters culminated in an extraordinary achievement, raising over $100,000. These funds will provide up to 700,000 meals for individuals and families facing food insecurities in the Inland Empire.

The event embraced the spirit of the Derby, with guests adorning their finest spring attire and stylish big hats, infusing the venue with an electric derby atmosphere. The food bank was a sight to behold, adorned with themed decorations, including a prop horse and jockeys, providing unique photo opportunities. Maddilicious Catering served a gourmet dinner that delighted all attendees.

Throughout the evening, special recognitions were presented to community recipients. Ministerio Juda was honored as the Community Partner of the Year, Sabiduria Latina as the Media Partner of the Year, Galleria at Tyler as the Corporate Partner of the Year, and Hope Lutheran received the prestigious President's Choice Award.

The Gala also featured a blend of entertainment, including a talented Emcee and DJ, Allan Cason, who kept the music flowing, creating an energetic atmosphere that carried the festivities well into the night. Additionally, the live auction, led by auctioneer Chuck Dukas, infused the event with excitement, engaging the crowd in enthusiastic participation.

The Million Meals Gala: Run for the Roses was an evening to remember, brimming with joy, generosity, and a shared commitment to combating hunger in our community. Together, we have impacted the lives of those in need, and the results of this remarkable event will continue to nourish the community.
