What is CalFresh?
CalFresh es un programa de asistencia nutricional para ayudar a las personas y familias que tienen dificultades para poner comida en la mesa. Los beneficios de CalFresh se emiten en una tarjeta de transferencia electrónica de beneficios (EBT), que es similar a una tarjeta de cajero automático. Am I Eligible?
To qualify for CalFresh, applicants must fall into a specific income bracket. Their income bracket and the number of people living in their household determine the maximum amount of CalFresh funds they may receive. *Your monthly CalFresh benefit will vary depending on your gross income, household size, and monthly expenses. Where can i use my CalFresh benefits?
You can swipe your EBT Card at most major grocery stores, convenience stores, and even some farmer’s markets! Use the SNAP Retail Locator to find a participating store near you.
Can I use my EBT Card at Farmers' Markets?
Yes! Market Match is California’s healthy food incentive program, which matches customers’ federal nutrition assistance benefits, like CalFresh and WIC, at farmers’ markets and other farm-direct sites. Swipe your EBT card for the amount of your choice, and you will receive CalFresh EBT tokens or paper vouchers to spend on any CalFresh-eligible food items at the market. View sites near you!
What can I buy with my EBT card?
You can purchase fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, breads, cereals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and plants or seeds that will be used for consumption. You cannot purchase alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, prepared or hot foods, vitamins, medicines, supplements, live animals, non-food items, or hygiene products.
